If you have watched Gregg Arakis 2007 cult comedy Smileyface you know what Im talking about. The scene where Anna Faris character Jane is on the run from the police that leads her to take hiding in the house of her professor in Marxist studies. Old professor Howard is not home but his mother Shirley welcomes Jane as if expecting her. Shirley lets Jane have a seat in the sofa and asks if she is hungry or thirsty. Jane replies
Now that you mention it, I wouldnt mind something to munch on, like chips or whatever
Shirley goes to fetch Jane some refreshments
While shes gone Jane is studying the room and her eyes falls on a framed black and white picture of a corn cob. Thats the corn moment
And here follows the epic and probably most quoted part of the movie, the meta-lasagna. But lets stay in the corn moment.

The world of people hold a big love for this versatile cereal grain. And when you hold love for something it will keep revealing its beauty to you in moments when you least expect it. I grew up on the countryside. But I do truly believe, corn likes to put on a show more than others.
